Sophie’s story about the death of her mother on her 18th birthday appeared in That’s Life magazine.

Sophie was a bit worried about selling her story to a magazine

Sophie said: “I was a bit worried about selling my story to a magazine. After all, it was about something so personal and tragic. My mum had died on my 18th birthday and it was obviously something that I wanted dealt with appropriately.

“Chris made it easy for me. He was sensitive and professional and allowed me the space and time to make my decision.

“In the end I know he got the best possible deal for me and made sure I was happy with the content. I felt like I had control with Chris that I wouldn’t have had elsewhere. I would recommend him to anyone with similar doubts.”

There’s real money to be made for your story. Some clients have come away with £6,000 on multi-media contracts and others £50 for a sweet and simple piece in a nice little magazine. It all depends on the story.

My job is to get you the best possible deal with as little anguish for you as possible. I will always interview you myself, unless you’d prefer to speak to my journalist wife, Emily, and make sure you’re happy with the words.

The first step is simply to fill out the form here or email me. I’ll call you back, always within 24 hours, but usually much sooner than that. We’ll have a chat and I’ll give you all the information and advice I can.

If you decide to take it further – and you’ll usually have to provide me with some pictures to show the editors – I’ll start selling your story. Rest assured I have contacts on every single national newspaper and magazine in the country and I’m confident of getting you a deal to beat any other.

Once we’ve got a commission – and you’re happy with it – you will usually have to sign a contract and I will interview you properly. After I’ve written the story I will always go through it with you before sending it off to the magazine or newspaper.

You’ll be paid for a story you know is going to say what you want, often in your own words, four to six weeks after publication.
